We are looking for an Interim Controller to provide support to multiple business units within a large international FMCG organization in The Netherlands.

Based in Amsterdam, this role provides a unique opportunity to manage the oversight and controlling of operational and overhead costs across a diverse range of entities in the EU zone.

As a key member of the Europe Operations Finance FP&A team, you will lead the development of processes related to controlling operations and overhead expenses, support digital transformation projects, and partner closely with local and regional teams to ensure financial goals are met.

In this role, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the coordination and management of the operations overhead performance process, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, including CBUs, Regional Ops Leaders, and Global Finance teams;
  • Serve as the primary FP&A contact for the Global Operations Finance team regarding overheads reporting, planning, and performance analysis;
  • Oversee the monthly closing processes for local CBUs, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of magnitude reporting;
  • Facilitate the Annual Operating Plan process, consolidating and presenting data to Global Finance and ensuring effective communication with CBUs for bottom-up review;
  • Drive digital transformation projects and enhancements to reporting tools, including Power BI, to optimize cost management and financial performance;
  • Streamline and enhance the intercompany reconciliation process for supply points across the EU;
  • Act as a trusted partner to local and regional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and contributing to improved financial forecasting and performance;
  • Continuously optimize the use of business intelligence and reporting tools for efficient financial analysis and decision-making.

In order to succeed in this role, we ask that you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field;
  • At least 10 years of experience in finance, with a focus on financial planning, forecasting, and analysis;
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to turn complex financial data into actionable insights;
  • Proficiency in financial reporting tools and software such as Excel and Power BI;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Familiarity with performance animation tools and reporting software (eg, Power BI, Excel, Magnitude, Reporting Factory);
  • Prior experience in the FMCG industry is an advantage.

Hourly rate for a freelance professional will be between €95 and €105 (incl travel) excluding vat. We can also offer a temporary contract with a monthly salary if you are not a registered freelancer.
